Features of Cogged V-Belt
Highly flexible
Multiple layers of heavy-duty industrial backing protect the belt assembly and support its tension ropes, resulting in a highly flexible belt.
Higher dynamic load
Specially treated low tensile polyester tension ropes provide higher dynamic load capacity and are resistant to bending fatigue and shock loading.
Improved handling
The thinner profile of the toothed tooth pad provides greater flexibility and better heat dissipation and improved handling on smaller pulley diameters.
How to Choose V-Belt
When choosing which type of v-belt to buy, it is important to consider which style is best suited to your application. The classic Cogged v-belt is economical when it comes to upfront costs, but not for long-term and frequent use. Toothed belts are designed with slots perpendicular to the length of the belt, a design that significantly reduces the belt’s bending strength. Because they are equal in size, slotted toothed belts can be run on the same pulleys you already use for standard V-belts. These belts are particularly useful in high-speed compact drives.
